Elevator replacement begins at 29th Avenue SkyTrain Station
Alternative accessible shuttle service available on weekday mornings and afternoons

VANCOUVER, BC – TransLink is improving accessibility and reliability for customers by modernizing SkyTrain stations across the system. Later this month, the elevator at 29th Avenue Station will close for replacement work.
The elevator closure will start Sept. 29, with construction expected to take approximately four months. During this work, an accessible shuttle will be available on weekdays:
- Every 15 minutes between 29th Avenue and Joyce–Collingwood stations.
- From 6 a.m. to 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
Extra signage and wayfinding will be in place at both stations to help customers access the shuttle. Customers who need additional assistance can speak with a SkyTrain Attendant or call Customer Information at 604.953.3333.
These upgrades are replacing 40-year-old equipment with new infrastructure designed to reduce disruptions and ensure reliability. The Expo Line Elevator Replacement Program is upgrading 21 original elevators across 15 stations with modern replacements that have 20 per cent more capacity and are more reliable. Nine new Expo Line elevators are already operating throughout the SkyTrain network.
TransLink thanks customers for their patience throughout these important infrastructure upgrades.
